50th Anniversary

My Grandparents just celebrated their anniversary, and this is the link to the news article my mom put in their paper.
I think it is a very nice tribute and a great picture too!

Camping Fun

We had a really fun time camping this last weekend.

We went with a few others from the ward and really enjoyed ourselves. It was a good family experience.

Other than Riley getting "marked" by the Schelly's dog twice, Tucker getting a number of scratches, Sammy getting the most bug bites (even after repellant application) and Sammy also getting a bird dropping on her head, the trip went off without a hitch!

Eve enjoyed being a leader to her little followers as they created dolls and boats out of reeds to set sail in the lake.

When going to bed on Friday night, we also got the rare opportunity to be front row to a very nasty sounding racoon fight! Luckily, they were on the other side of the palm tree, and we were safe in our tent, but it was intense. We didn't leave any food out for them to ravage, but others in the vicinity had. I am glad none of our ward members were pillaged.

We also heard a "stampede" of wild donkeys run through the camp before dawn. That was new experience for me too! Once again, safe in our tents still.=)

The boat was probably the favorite activity on Saturday morning and I am grateful the Schelly's took us around as it brought great smiles to the children.

I hope you enjoy a few pictures, including the sunrise pictures that I took as we got up Saturday morning. I couldn't decide which I like best, what do you think?

Hide and Seek

Just wanted to share.

All my life I have been told of the times I would play hide and seek with my dad. He'd hide, then, I would, exactly where he had been. Each time he'd change his hiding place, I would also.

I have a very faint memory of me hiding in a bush, looking around, the sky was bright and clear.

Well, recently, I have discovered that Tucker plays the same way! Each time I hide, he finds me. Then, on his turn, it isn't hard to find him, since it is in the same place I just vacated. We have a lot of fun, especially when I drag it out and pretend I don't know where to look. However, the last time I took too long to find him, he started making noises like chirps, I suppose this was to "help" me.
