This picture is of Samantha in her "New" dress for her 9th Birthday. Literally right before we were coming to Utah last year for our summer vacation, my sewing machine was in full rebellion and stopped working. I had to finish the zipper and part of the hem once I got to my mom's house and could use her machine. I wasn't quite satisfied with how the skirt ended up, and always meant to get around to re-doing it. Finally, a few months ago, I kidnapped the dress from Samatha's closet because I noticed when she was wearing it that the bottom really didn't look right. She has grown a few inches since last June and the height really affected how it hung. So, I got to work, cut off the skirt, detached the zipper, changed this and that and ended up with a very complimentary skirt for my girl's dress. So yes, she got the same dress, two years in a row, for her birthday.

Happy to be together again. Roland got home very late Wednesday night. He was working with me so that we could surprise the kids, but instead, he surprised me too! I am glad my mom and he could co-conspire, she picked him up from the airport. He made it home in time for the kid's Dance Festival at school and Tucker's Graduation.
