Easter 2010

Gwen's very first egg hunt! She had a lot of fun for a few minutes. Then, she just wanted to play with her eggs and eat the chocolates.

The NEW closet!

Our girl's bedroom closet had a normal swinging door, and yet had nearly 4 feet of space to the right. The rod went all the way across, but because of the small door opening, it was pointless to hand clothes all the way across. My dad made the suggestion to enlarge the opening, and my brother helped me do it. Actually, Ryan did 95% of the hard work. I really just sanded and painted. Painting a closet took more time that I thought it would, and used muscles in a way I don't usually use them! But, I am happy to say... it is done and works wonderfully!

I am actually amazed at how clean the room is now that most of their things fit into the closet.

Roland had installed the shelves on the left before he left last fall. Ryan installed corresponding shelves on the right, so each girl has her own set. NOW, this long closet is being used to it's capacity.

*Oh, and yes, the wall on the outside still needs to be painted. We are going to repaint and spruce up the whole room this summer with a fresh coat of red paint and probaby trim around the ceiling. That is another project for another day.

While I was painting the closet, the girl's slept like a "sleepover" in Tucker's room a few nights. Gwen thought the sleeping bags looked like a great place to chill. You can tell she is enjoying herself when she should be getting sleepy for bed. And I thought Roland was the one to always rile up the kids before bed. I guess they can do it themselves, too!

Arizona Trip

My mom invited me to go on a vacation with her last week. We went to Phoenix, then on to Tucson. We had a lot of fun, and here are a few pics to show out times.

Trader Joes, yummy and fun. Gwen was quite delighted to push these mini carts. I couldn't get a good picture of her. As you see in the next picture, she was a blur of movement and I had to keep up with her to keep her and the other shoppers safe.
