Utah Vacation~ Week 2

Samantha, being patient, hoping to catch a fish. She didn't, neither did Eve, Tucker and three of the others, but they did have a lot of fun! I actually enjoyed helping them too. I got a LOT of practice casting since the wind kept blowing the lines the wrong way.=)

First Week of Vacation!

Tree Climbin' at the Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake City. Samantha was having a blast. Eve couldn't come because she had been feeling unwell that morning. Tucker was whining and pointing to the tractor pulling a trailer, "wagon ride", that he wanted to join. We were going on the next ride. Definitely worth it's "1.50 per person, under two, free."

Wild Animal "Park at Dark" Kids standing in front of waterfall. Fun seeing the laser/light show, and seeing the baby elephants. We also saw plenty of birds, but then ran out of time. Just a quick stop and something fun to do as we spent an afternoon and evening in San Diego. The afternoon had been spent at Dog Beach where the dogs had a BLAST.... sorry no pics of that.=)

Tucker has a spider.=) He was so wiggly, it is a wonder it was recognizable. They had a blast playing at the park, but it was crazy for me to keep track of them! There were games for the kids too, bean bag toss, ring toss, bullseye, and pinata. Lots of fun for LOTS of kids. I am glad that there was an adult dinner and program the next night because I only seemed to get 1 or 2 minutes of visiting or hellos, before I had to make sure I knew where the kids were again.=) It was nice having a dinner that was worry free the next night. Much easier to catch up with a few old friends.

Daisy Slumber Party

The final activity for the Daisy Girl Scout troop I have been leading this year was our Slumber Party. The last time we met, they officialy bridged (graduated) to Brownies, but our slumber was still to celebrate being Daisies! Eve was invited because, as a leader's daughter, she enjoys a few perks. She was our only Brownie, and then we had 9 more Daisies (5 from my troop and 4 from another troop.)

The girls painted fans, made mini-scrapbooks, assembled necklaces, painted nails, got silly hair-do's, ate plenty of chips and cookies, drank more than plenty cups of lemonade, giggled, laughed, screamed, ran, and told stories (many of which had a Shrek theme???). It was a success in the fact that everyone had fun!

Did we get a lot of sleep last night? Not enough in my opinion! But would I do it again? Of course!

Roland, my dear husband, is worried that I am leaving these guys out, so here they are...

Jace: 56 pound Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Loves to run, play in water, and retrieve!

Scooter: 11 pound Terrier Mutt. Loves to have his belly rubbed and run unrestrained!

Each of them give me reasons to love them and not. But overall, they add to the dynamics of the home. My greatest joy is when they are obediant and when they sleep.=) They act just like brothers, wrestling, running, and cuddling. Do brothers cuddle? Well, these ones do.=)

La Jolla Cove, San Diego, CA June 2, 2007

Tonight I just wanted to post a few pictures we took in San Diego a few weeks ago (June 2, 2007 to be exact). We were picking up Eve from her Brownie Girl Scout Campout, but arrived early. SO, Tucker, Samantha and I ate our picnic dinner at the beach. We saw the seals in the cove and enjoyed about an hour at sunset. It was overcast, but nice. Yes, they are wearing sweatshirts. Unlike YUMA, the breeze off the ocean is nice and cool in the evening. I think I took it for granted when we lived there. Nothing like a desert summer to get you to appreciate nice weather. It was only the lure of food that got Tucker away from the seals and the pier.

This picture was taken last month, but it applied to the story I want to tell today, so I added it.

Tucker had told me he was going to eat his little piece of Pita bread, then he said he was full. We repeated this question answer "quiz" about three times before I picked up the last quarter of a Pita, and asked Samantha if she wanted to share it with me (she is the only other one who seemed to like it). We proceeded to eat, and just as I had one small bite left, Tucker said, "I wanted to eat it!" NOTE: he still has nearly a entire quarter of a Pita on his plate. I told him he said he was full, and he replied that he wasn't, (of course). So I offered that last tiny morsel. His reply to me, "No. It has your germs on it, Mommy!"

Since he was full, I washed him up and got him down from the table.=)
