Tucker's Birthday Fun!

Tucker had a Pirate Party for his 5th Birthday. We had a lot of fun with dress up ( yeah for Halloween at the dollar store), face paint, battles, food and a treasure hunt (cake was the treasure). Here are a few pics of the day!

This new video of Gwen is of her "speaking". Last night she just went on and on at the dinner table. My mom and sister were over. Please excuse the occasionally loud bursts of grown up comments, her sweet small sound is what we were trying to record. I started the video in the hall so that the beeps of the camera wouldn't distract her and stop the flow. So, hang in there until the end and you will enjoy your time.

New Home!!!

To start off... a few things I have learned this last few weeks:

1. Babies don't like all the changes involving a move. After a week of the home being packed and becoming unrecognizable to an infant, she cried if anyone looked or talked to her the first few days in Utah. Fortunately, trust was re-established and she loves all her family once again, including Grandma, Auntie, Grandpa, etc.

2. Owning a home involves a lot of energy. I am still trying to find time to do everything, including keeping up on the weeds in my flower bed.

3. Unpacking a home with an infant isn't as easy as it was with older children. I would let them watch movies and such while I unpacked all day. Gwen isn't thrilled with the idea. She needs more attention. The result is that in stead of only taking one week to unpack, I have taken 2 1/2 and I am still not done. True, I didn't unpack anything for a few days last week, I was busy with other things, but I am nearly there. I am hoping less than a week left, maybe by the end of Labor Day!

4. I LOVE living close to my family. We are going to attend my nephew's blessing this Sunday, and last Saturday we attended our neice's baptism! If only Roland were here, it would indeed be grand. He is back in HOT Yuma though.=( Only one month to go though and he will join us for a vacation until he leaves for Japan in November.

5. The pictures loaded backwards, so my finished yard pics are before the weed jungle ones. Enjoy them anyway.=)

Wow... a yard!

Beautful mailbox. Roland put this in for us. When we got here, the mailbox was an old one bungee corded to that fence, the post bent and rotten in the weeds below.

Compare the yard, mown, to the outside of our front fence. Yes, it was a jungle of weeds, no grass.

Our aspens were too close to the house and greatly contributing to the jungle/forest in the front yard. We will use them as firewood in the winter when they have cured.

So sweet, I KNEW they loved each other.=) They had just fallen asleep after a little arguement.

Eve is SO helpful with Gwen. I can tell she really likes being a big sister. She even plays "day care" and asks me to bring Gwen to it.=)

First Day of Preschool. Our school offers a program for kids at risk for Kindergarten. After Tucker's testing, I realized that he is not likely to be at the top of the list. He did awesome and didn't miss a question! okay, enough bragging, anyway, he was on the waiting list and got called in. I know he loves it. Thanks, Roni and Johnna, for teaching so well that my little guy is in great shape after a year of preschool.

No, it isn't a real messy diaper, just a melted reeses in a diaper. We went to a baby shower the Saturday after we got here for my cousin's wife. Gross game, fun time.
